My class just began reading Lois Lowry’s, “Number the Stars.” It’s been a very moving unit so far, and my students have blown me away by some of their comments and questions. I’ve been trying to think of ideas on how to make this already meaningful book and study stick with them even more. While I’m still coming up with ideas (please share if you have any) I came across this picture on pinterest today and I’m looking forward to sharing it with them tomorrow as well! It’s all about Irena Sendler. (It also will lead in well to next month’s Women’s History Month!) I’m going to take the bottom part about Al Gore off. I want it to be a pensive moment for the students on what she did not on politics.
